The 2011 GRM project has begun

Welcome to our documentation of our newest project. An old hunk of German steel that we plan to bring to the $2011 Grassroots Motorsport challenge in Gainsville next fall. A 1975 BMW 2002.

From 2006-2009 Carlos Mendez, and Jimmy Hageman turned an average everyday 88 BMW 325is into a track monster. I met Carlos, and Jimmy at a local car hang out in 2008-slowly hung around their shop more, and more until early 2010, I jumped on board and began helping them with their newest transformation of the car. An all steel custom wide-body, and many other upgrades, including a bigger turbo, and suspension bits.We came in 3rd place overall at the event, but we still consider it a sucess. The e30 was supercar fast, and the community loved it, so much so to get an invite to the Ultimate track car challenge @ VIR in July- Which we're all very exited about.

So a week or so after the event- Carlos, John, and I got together to talk about next years plans. Wanting to stay with BMW mainly because we all drive them, and have a healthy parts collection, the choice was obvious-. A cult classic, the car that started it all! What we were looking for in a chassis, it fit the bill perfect. Sure enough, Jimmy found one a few miles from us on C-list, and it was white, had no sunroof, had a solid chassis- So, after much haggleing, and a crazy trailor marathon I brought her home in one peice.
